What's the goal of the Special Ed NAO Software interface?
This dedicated interface allows a teacher or related service specialist to easily select lessons to meet the unique learning styles of multiple students with ASD. Our turnkey approach covers everything an educational professional would need to operate, maintain, and update a child’s lesson plan. All that needs to be done is to turn on the robot, link to its own internal network, and monitor the student’s progress. As each lesson is completed, a report can be printed to show progress as it is related to the individual goals and objectives for each student.
Even with no prior knowledge in software or robotics, the interface enables users to easily take control of the robot and send commend the robot easily and at any time.
Curriculum included
The solution comes with a printed copy of the NAO Special Ed curriculum that supports the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. It includes 20 lessons or activities that are designed to improve learning readiness and social skills while decreasing the natural anxiety levels that many students with ASD suffer from when faced with processing traditional social settings.
Each activity can be personalized based on the learning goals, motivations and individual personality of each child.
These activities come with preprogrammed applications for the NAO robot that cover a broad range of varied and complementary skills such as: interpersonal communication, following directions, knowledge of everyday activities, vocabulary lessons, recognizing and regulating emotions, etc.
