What Is VR Expeditions 2.0®?

RobotLAB’s Expeditions 2.0 is here to bring your classroom to life. This software allows your students to be transported to the places they are learning about and see sights from all over the world. HD 360 images paired with content from Encyclopedia Brittanica create the perfect answer to the absence of Google Expeditions. Bring your classroom into the 21st century with the addition of the Expeditions 2.0 Virtual Reality kit by RobotLAB.

RobotLAB VR Expeditions 2.0™ is inspired by the great work Google did, and following feedback from thousands of educators, RobotLAB created a VR tool tailored to educators’ needs.

Some of the areas of improvement are:

brand-encyclopaedia-britannica

Content – A unique partnership with Encyclopædia Britannica® to bring high-quality, curated, and tailored content, along with student hand-outs and additional teacher resources that make educators' life easier.

Visuals – In Expeditions 2.0®, all the 360-degrees photos are high definition, 4k resolution, and designed to bring the best of the world to your classroom, in HD quality.

Classroom Management – A new feature was developed from the ground up. Now teachers can create playlists and save expeditions for offline teaching, without any need for internet access. Create classes and track the progress per class is an essential tool for educators struggling to manage their time more efficiently.

"It is very engaging and it gets kids talking. They get excited about what they see and they want to share that with others.

I have used these with several different classes and grade levels- and all ages of students (and teachers) get excited. I think the students like using technology and they like to be immersed in what it is they are studying"

Lori Thomson is a District Media Specialist at StreetBoro City Schools, She has been using the RobotLAB VR Kit with her students since 2018.

What Teachers say:

  • VR has allowed my students to gain a deeper understanding of settings and environments that I would otherwise be unable to show them. It has literally opened up the whole world to my students in a way I couldn't have done without this technology. - Lauren Colman-6th Grade ELA Teacher

  • Having a VR experience was a huge asset to my classes! The students were captivated by the journey they took to the moon, and it helped clear up any misconceptions they had. - Julie Boardman K-4 PLTW Teacher

  • Virtual reality brought excitement and significantly increased discourse between students. It brought our vocabulary words to life and created immediate engagement for the text we were about to read- Kate McGraw 3rd Grade Teacher
