Overview

What is the AgileX Bunker Mini?

The AgileX Bunker Mini is the smallest tracked Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) in AgileX's lineup — a modular mobile robot base engineered for confined spaces and demanding off-road terrain that defeats wheeled platforms. With independent left/right track drive, it pivots in place at a zero turning radius, climbs 30-degree slopes, and clears obstacles up to roughly 115-120 mm, all inside a footprint of about 690 x 570 x 335 mm. An IP67-rated sealed body lets it keep working through sand, dust, and water.

Rather than a finished application robot, the Bunker Mini ships as an open development platform: aluminum T-slot rails across the top deck let you bolt down LiDAR, depth cameras, robotic arms, or custom payloads up to its rated load, while a CAN bus interface and open-source SDK (with ROS/ROS 2 support) give your team direct control of the drivetrain. A 24V/30Ah lithium pack delivers roughly 80 minutes of runtime and recharges in 3-4 hours.

RobotLAB supplies the Bunker Mini to universities, research labs, and engineering teams across the U.S. as a reseller — handling sales, leasing, RaaS subscriptions, deployment, integration support, and training. If you need a small, tough tracked base to prototype inspection, mapping, or manipulation projects, we help you scope the right configuration and stand it up. Call 1-87-RobotLAB to talk through your application.

How it works

AgileX Bunker Mini in detail

University & Lab Robotics Research

The Bunker Mini is purpose-built as an R&D chassis. Its CAN bus interface, open-source SDK, and ROS/ROS 2 support let higher-ed and corporate research teams develop SLAM, autonomous navigation, and tracked-locomotion algorithms on real hardware. T-slot rails make it straightforward to mount LiDAR, cameras, compute, and manipulators for experiments in mobile manipulation and perception.

Inspection in Confined & Harsh Spaces

At roughly 70 x 60 cm with a zero turning radius and IP67 sealing, the Bunker Mini reaches narrow utility corridors, crawl spaces, and outdoor sites that wheeled robots can't navigate. Fitted with sensors or a camera mast, it serves as a platform for remote inspection in environments contaminated by sand, dust, or water.

Off-Road & Rough-Terrain Autonomy

Tracked drive, a 30-degree climbing grade, and obstacle clearance near 115-120 mm make the Bunker Mini suited to gravel, grass, debris, and uneven ground. Teams use it to test all-terrain mobility, surveillance, and reconnaissance payloads where traction and stability matter more than top speed.

Questions & answers

About the AgileX Bunker Mini.

  1. Is the Bunker Mini a finished robot or a development platform?

It is a development chassis (a mobile robot base), not a turnkey application robot. It provides the tracked drivetrain, power, and a top deck with T-slot rails, plus a CAN bus interface and open-source SDK. You add your own sensors, compute, software, and payloads. RobotLAB can help you spec and integrate those add-ons — call 1-87-RobotLAB.

  2. What can the Bunker Mini carry?

The current AgileX 2.0 specification lists a 25 kg rated payload, enough for LiDAR, depth cameras, onboard compute, and many lightweight robotic arms. Some distributor and documentation sources cite a 35 kg figure for certain variants, so confirm the exact rating for your unit before mounting a heavy arm. Call 1-87-RobotLAB and we'll verify the configuration.

  3. Can it handle outdoor and wet conditions?

Yes. The Bunker Mini carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating, meaning it is sealed against dust and can withstand temporary water immersion. Combined with its tracked drive and 30-degree climbing ability, it is designed for sand, dust, water, and uneven off-road terrain. Operating temperature runs roughly -20 C to 60 C.

  4. Does it support ROS?

Yes. AgileX provides an open-source SDK with ROS and ROS 2 support and CAN bus control of the chassis, which is why it is widely used in university and corporate robotics research. RobotLAB's team can assist with bring-up and integration. Call 1-87-RobotLAB for onboarding support.

  5. How long does it run on a charge?

The 24V/30Ah lithium battery delivers approximately 80 minutes of runtime depending on payload, terrain, and duty cycle, and recharges in about 3-4 hours. For continuous operation, ask us about spare-battery and charging strategies. Call 1-87-RobotLAB.

  6. Can I lease or subscribe instead of buying outright?

Yes. RobotLAB sells the Bunker Mini at $9,990 and also offers leasing and Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) subscription options, plus deployment, training, and ongoing service nationwide. Call 1-87-RobotLAB to compare purchase, lease, and RaaS pricing for your program.

  7. How is the Bunker Mini different from the larger Bunker Rover?

The Bunker Mini is the compact, lower-payload version built for tight spaces and benchtop-scale research, while the full-size Bunker Rover is larger, carries a heavier payload, and tackles tougher off-road duty at a higher price. If you are unsure which fits your project, call 1-87-RobotLAB and we'll help you choose.
