The NAO V6 is a fully programmable, 23-inch (574 mm) bipedal humanoid robot built by Aldebaran (formerly SoftBank Robotics) and supplied by RobotLAB as the NAO V6 Standard Edition. With 25 degrees of freedom, two HD cameras, four microphones, tactile and sonar sensors, and an onboard Intel Atom processor running embedded Linux, NAO walks, talks, recognizes speech and faces, and responds to touch — making abstract programming concepts tangible the moment a student writes their first line of code.
RobotLAB ships the Standard Edition as a complete teaching package: one NAO V6 robot, charger and battery, an unlimited Choregraphe software license, the full SDK and API, SoftBank Robotics curriculum books, one language download, and a one-year warranty backed by RobotLAB Support Level 1. Students can program NAO visually through Choregraphe's drag-and-drop blocks or directly in Python, C++, or JavaScript, so the same robot serves a middle-school intro-to-coding class and a university human-robot-interaction lab.
As a US-based reseller and integrator, RobotLAB sells, leases, and RaaS-subscribes NAO nationwide and pairs every unit with onboarding, training, and ongoing technical support. NAO is one of the most widely deployed research and education humanoids in the world, used at institutions including Yale and MIT and in thousands of K-12 and special-education classrooms for STEM instruction and social-skills work.

NAO turns programming from screen-only abstraction into observable physical behavior. Students sequence movements, dialogues, and sensor responses in Choregraphe's visual editor, then graduate to Python as skills grow. Teachers use the included SoftBank Robotics curriculum to map activities to reading, science, math, and engineering standards.
With a documented SDK and API in Python, C++, and JavaScript, NAO V6 is a standard platform for university research in robotics, AI, computer vision, and human-robot interaction. Its 25 degrees of freedom, IMU, and dual cameras support work in locomotion, perception, and social robotics — the reason institutions like Yale and MIT have adopted it.
NAO's predictable, expressive, non-judgmental presence is widely used in special-education and autism-spectrum programs to build engagement, communication, and social-emotional skills. Educators script structured interactions — greetings, turn-taking games, emotion recognition prompts — that many students respond to more readily than to human-only instruction.
Same-day response. We handle delivery, on-site setup, staff training, and ongoing service nationwide.
The package includes one NAO V6 robot, one charger and one battery, an unlimited Choregraphe software license, the full SDK and API, SoftBank Robotics curriculum books (PDF), one Ethernet cable, one language download, and a one-year warranty with RobotLAB Support Level 1. For questions about adding language licenses or curriculum, call 1-87-RobotLAB.
Both use the same NAO V6 hardware. The AI Edition (priced higher at $19,990) adds generative-AI conversational skills with three-year AI Skills access and ships with two language licenses. The Standard Edition is the proven coding-and-STEM teaching platform without the bundled AI subscription. Call 1-87-RobotLAB and we'll help you pick the right configuration.
NAO can walk, talk, recognize speech and faces, respond to touch, and run custom behaviors. Beginners build programs visually by dragging blocks in Choregraphe; advanced users write directly in Python, C++, or JavaScript using the full SDK. It supports voice recognition across 19 languages (one included).
Both. NAO is used across K-12 STEM classrooms, special-education programs, and university research and human-robot-interaction labs. The visual Choregraphe interface makes it accessible to younger students, while the open SDK supports graduate-level research. Call 1-87-RobotLAB to discuss curriculum fit for your grade level.
Yes. RobotLAB sells, leases, and offers Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) subscriptions, and the listing notes financing at roughly $356/month. We tailor the option to your budget and deployment timeline — call 1-87-RobotLAB for a quote.
Every NAO V6 Standard Edition includes a one-year warranty and RobotLAB Support Level 1, plus onboarding and training as a US-based integrator. If you need extended support, additional training, or multi-unit classroom deployment help, call 1-87-RobotLAB.
NAO V6 runs approximately 60 minutes under active use and up to 90 minutes in normal use, with a roughly 90-minute charge time. For continuous classroom use, ask 1-87-RobotLAB about spare batteries.
