You dig out your VR kit, run VR Expeditions 2.0, and it says there is an update. So you update only to find that your student devices are giving you an error "The app keeps stopping". 

Breathe - there IS a solution!

This is a known bug with how certain devices relate to student app version 2.41. You can expect to find this bug if your student devices are model Asus A002A, Asus Z00XS, or Magellan U2 VR. You can find your device model number in Settings > About Phone > Model

The Solution

Unfortunately the "solution" is to roll back the updates on the teacher tablet and student devices to the most recent stable pairing. That pairing was Teacher App 2.40 and Student App 2.33. 

Student:

Uninstall the existing app

Download the previous stable version (Contact Support for a download link)

Turn off wifi so the device does not prompt you to update

Run the downloaded APK (if it will not run, try moving it out of your Downloads folder using the Files app)

Say yes to all permissions

Turn wifi back on

Choose "Cancel" when the app asks you to update

Teacher:

In the VR Expeditions 2.0 app, go to the Settings tab and take note of your activation code. You will need to reenter it later

Uninstall the existing app

Download the previous stable version (Contact Support for a download link)

Turn off wifi so the device does not prompt you to update

Run the downloaded APK (If it will not run, try moving it out of your Downloads folder using the Files app)

Say yes to all permissions

Turn on wifi and open the app

Choose "Cancel" when the app offers the update
